Many prospective new students wonder: How difficult is it, really? When will I be fluent? Is there homework? I don't have much time to study: Will it work? My honest answer: “It depends”. It depends on your personality, and how easily you retain material. It depends on how much time you are willing to invest in learning the French language. Most importantly, it depends on your motivation. There is no miracle solution to learn French. Yes, it will take time, and work. Yes, we will study French grammar (some) so that you understand basic sentence structure. Yes, you will be expected to memorize some vocabulary. Yet, we will have fun. As an adult learner, it is normal to feel intimidated or self-conscious
After an initial evaluation session, I will recommend a customized program for you. This program will be based on your experience, your goals, and your learning style. We will not focus so much on levels (beginner, intermediate, or advanced).
We will focus instead on communicating—verbally, and in writing—on understanding, and being understood. To avoid routine, we will use a variety of activities and materials, and will focus on topics you are interested in. I travel to France every year and come back with exciting new teaching materials. So, are you ready to be challenged? Now is a good time to learn about Choosing a Class Format
